地藏王菩萨诞辰

地藏菩萨的诞辰落在农历七月的最后一天。在佛教中，农历七月是行孝和做好事的月份，因此也被称为“孝亲月”、“行善月”或“报恩月”。

根据《盂兰盆经》的记载，目犍连向佛陀请教如何拯救他母亲脱离饿鬼道的痛苦。按照佛陀的教导，他在七月十五日的僧人自省日设立供品，向三宝（佛、法、僧）供奉，将功德回向给母亲。佛陀无量的功德拯救了所有过去世的家人。因此，这一天也成为纪念和回向的日子，让世人获得祝福并延长寿命，而已故的人则能得以往生极乐世界。

为了解救母亲，目犍连发誓要救助所有众生，特别是那些在地狱中受苦的人。因此，后世称他为地藏菩萨。他的“孝道”和“大愿”深受人们的敬仰。
